Asbestosdeath - Dejection/Unclean EP

Here
Heard of Sleep?..maybe Noothgrush? Well this is the band that pre-dated both. They only released two seven inches, Dejection and Unclean, both in '90, which were later re-released together as one by Southern Lord in '07. Yup.

Cavity - Wounded EP

Here
The now defunct, but always awesome Cavity. Featuring a handful of names who would go on to do things like Floor, Torche, Dove, Black Cobra, etc, this EP if full of the sludgy goodness that people have come to expect from one of the shittiest states, Florida.

Autopsy - Fiend for Blood EP

Here
More Autopsy. This EP was released in '91 on Peaceville, but was later tacked on to the end of Acts of the Unspeakable when it was re-released in '03(the link is the original version).

Here
The Time Lord is a 5 song album of never before released tracks by the classic doom band Pagan Altar. Originally recorded in 1978, the the album was re-issued in 2004.

Career Suicide - Cherry Beach EP

Here
Featuring members of the now hipster worshiped Fucked Up, Career Suicide play straight on, old school hardcore. This EP was released in '08 and only available during a short tour they did of the UK.

what would make the beach boys sound even better?

Here
...if they took away all the instruments and relied solely on their voices of course. This is the classic album Pet Sounds a la acapella. Personally, I prefer it the real thing, ya, I went there.

Godflesh - Hymns Demo

Here
6 demo tracks from Godflesh's last studio album, and my personal favorite by them, Hymns.

Pentagram live @ The End

Probably the best show I have ever been too. I still can't believe I saw this band. You can make out the back of my buzzed head in parts of this video, I was into it.

SLEEP TOUR - SEPTEMBER 2010

It's official, Sleep is going on tour this September. According to the band's myspace they will be starting a mini-tour across the U.S. shortly after their gig with The Stooges in New York on 9/3. The dates are as follows:
9/7 Philly
9/8 Brooklyn
9/9 Chicago
9/10 Austin
9/11 Portland
9/12 San Fransisco
More info available here.

Needless to say, I will be either at the Chicago or Austin dates. So fucking excited. I've heard that tickets for the Philly show are only 25 bucks, so hopefully the rest of the dates are a similar price.

Anhedonist Demo

Here
Anhedonist is a new band hailing from Seattle playing music of the death/doom kind, which if you haven't figured out by now, is always a plus with this blog. As you might have guessed from the title, this is their demo; it features 3 songs each clocking in at around 10 minutes. Worth it. If you're into it you might also want to check out Winter and/or Mystic Charm. Thanks to Joe for showing this to me.

Here
I've really been phoning it in as of late, early summer classes are a mother fucker. This is Autopsy, one of our favorite death metal bands ever. This is their third full length. Don't kill yourself.

Deteriorate - Rot in Hell

Here
I'm lazy and I took this link from the Cosmic Hearse blog. Raging as fuck death metal from the early 90's. Yup.
