Winter is one of the pioneering bands of the death/doom genre. What is death/doom...what the fuck does it sound like. They only put out two records; the first being their full length Into Darkness in '90, and the Eternal Frost EP in '94. Both were later re-issued by Nuclear Blast as one record. If you enjoy this then I recommend you check out a similar band, Mystic Charm(don't be fooled by the name).
